New Single-Session Format!

 

The Mindful Coping Workshop aims to increase awareness of our mind and body, gain understanding of our experiences, and help us move our lives in a more fulfilling direction. We will use experiential exercises, conceptual tools of mindfulness, and journaling throughout the session to help provide a variety of tools for you to cope with life stress.

Feeling overwhelmed? Emotions feeling intense and taking over? The Crash Out to Coping Workshop is here to help you build emotional resilience and navigate the ups and downs of college life. Presented by Dr. Amanda Guerrero from the Student Counseling Center, this workshop is based on skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which helps people create a "life worth living".

Sarah Cavanagh, author of Mind Over Monsters: Supporting Youth Mental Health with Compassionate Challenge, will visit campus on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A wide variety of events will be planned on, inviting students, faculty, and staff to engage with Prof. Cavanagh and the concept of “compassionate challenge” in the college classroom.
