Academic Advising
Paragraphs

Academic & Career Advising (ACA) offers a full range of academic support services for current and future Forest Grove undergraduate Ƶ students.

Current Undergraduate Students

Students pursuing an undergraduate degree on the Forest Grove campus are required to meet with a professional advisor or their faculty academic advisor at least once per semester prior to class registration. Professional staff advisors in ACA are available by appointment to help you with academic planning, declaring your major, connecting your majors to careers, and helping you with schedule changes.

We've created the Advising Handbook for you to compare majors/minors, graduate schools, career planning information, and a list of rotating new/special topics courses including travel courses. The Registrar's Office publishes information about the Advising and Registration Cycle including dates and policies about waitlists.

Academic coaching is available to current Forest Grove undergraduate students to enhance your college skills and academic performance. In addition to the support you'll receive from your faculty advisor we are available to discuss optimal pathways to graduation including offering an unofficial graduation check.

You can also find advising forms and submit them electronically to us for processing.

Future Students and Transferring to Pacific

Professional ACA advisors are available to answer questions on our Forest Grove undergraduate programs about transfer credits, AP/IB credits, and to help you choose classes to take prior to transferring to Ƶ. Please review the list of our available transfer guides and contact us if you have questions about schools not listed. Whether you are an incoming first year student from high school or transferring to Pacific, see the steps you'll take as a new student ahead of your first semester class registration.

Students in Graduate Programs or Hillsboro or Portland campuses

Please contact your program directly for academic advising information including information about class registration.

Do you know what transferable skills to look for in a candidate interview? Can you describe what skills your volunteers, interns, and entry level employees will gain during their time with you? “Work ready” employability skills and competencies are gaining prominence in the national conversation & are increasingly required in job postings (including student jobs, internships, and community service work study positions for Pacific students). Please join us for a one-hour professional development session on Tuesday, September 2nd for a deep dive into using Pacific's "Core Competencies" in your job postings and interviews!
