Thriving in Your First Year: Adjusting to College and Embracing a Growth Mindset

Starting college is an exciting milestone—but it also brings profound changes. From tougher coursework to making new friends and handling more independence, your first year can feel overwhelming. The good news? There are strategies that can help you not just survive but truly thrive.

Hundreds of alumni and families will return to campus for Homecoming 2025, Oct. 24-26, and we need your help to make it successful! Students and employees are invited to join the Homecoming event staff. We wouldn’t be able to have a successful weekend if it weren’t for amazing students and employees like you who lend a hand. You are also invited to review the schedule and register to attend!

International Programs is hosting Go Global on Thursday September 25 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UC Patio at the Forest Grove campus. The event will include tables for undergraduate travel courses and study abroad, graduate travel programs, Global Scholars, study abroad provider organizations, scholarships, and international work opportunities. New and Returning Pacific Students: Experience the Forest Grove Farmers Market, Wednesday Sept 17! Washington County is hosting their Expo there, with 25+ tables offering health education, community resources, job opportunities, baby goats, and more. They're inviting Pacific students to "stop by to win prizes and enjoy games and giveaways!"
