Q.  What is your educational background?

Associates of Health Science Degree.

Q.  What inspired you to pursue a career in pharmacy?

My first job out of high school was as a pharmacy technician, and I greatly enjoyed learning about what medications could do to benefit the body and target specific areas. I also enjoyed helping people. It was then that I knew that I wanted to go to pharmacy school, I just had no idea my road to pharmacy school would be a long one! All of my experiences and the journey to get here, I have only furthered my love for pharmacy and still enjoy helping people!

Q.  Why did you choose °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ School of Pharmacy?

I initially was interested for the 3-year program, then as other plans changed an added bonus came when it was somewhat close to home and my family could come visit! After attending one of the community days, I already felt welcomed and like I was a student at Pacific. I knew it was where I wanted to attend!

Q.  What has been your favorite experience so far as a pharmacy student?

Making so many new friends, I have enjoyed getting to know so many new people from so many different places and backgrounds!

Q.  What do you enjoy doing outside of pharmacy school?

Spending time with my family (I am a Mom!) and spending time at the ocean. There’s nothing better than putting my feet in the sand and ice-cold Oregon ocean…it’s my therapy.

Q.  What advice would you give to prospective or incoming pharmacy students?

I wish I had known or understood just how fast the information in the program was going to be coming at me. I thought I understood what it would mean to be in an accelerated program, but I had no idea!

Q.  Looking ahead, what career goals or interests are you considering after graduation?

I am hoping to be able to make a difference in rural communities and help underserved/underinsured individuals get the healthcare they need when it comes to medication. Most of my family is in Southern Oregon and I wouldn’t mind getting back there to be close to them and help the many surrounding communities that are struggling with adequate healthcare resources.
