We are thrilled to welcome Dalyce Barss to the °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ School of Pharmacy team! Dalyce joined us in late January and has quickly become an essential part of our admissions and enrollment efforts.
In her role as Assistant Director for Graduate and Professional Admissions, Dalyce is the go-to person for all things related to applying to our PharmD and MSPS programs. Whether you're curious about program requirements, the application timeline, or the admissions process, Dalyce is here to help and guide prospective students every step of the way.
You can reach her directly at PharmD@pacificu.edu.
In just six months, Dalyce has made a tremendous impact on our team and the future of our programs. She brings dedication, expertise, and a student-centered approach that we deeply value. We thought it would be great to catch up with her and learn more about her background, what drives her, as well as some fun facts.
Q. Tell us a little about your background, both personally and professionally, prior to becoming a faculty member here at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ School of Pharmacy.
A. I was born and raised in Canada and have lived in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia before moving to beautiful Oregon in 2023. Pacific is the fourth post-secondary institution I’ve had the pleasure of working at, and I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing team!
Q. As you enter the beginning of the 25/26 academic year, what excites you the most about the upcoming school year?
A. What I’m most excited about is finally meeting, in person, all the incoming students I’ve been connecting with over email for the past few months. It’s incredibly rewarding to work with future pharmacists from the very beginning of their journey—when their interest in the profession is just taking off—and then see their growth all the way through to graduation. Being part of that transformation is such a privilege, and I can’t wait to cheer them on every step of the way.
Q. Tell us some fun facts about yourself personally! Do you have a favorite animal?
A. Outside of work, I love camping, movies, quilting, animals, and big family gatherings. I’d say dogs are my favorite animal to have as a pet, but if I had to pick a favorite wild animal, it would definitely be the otter—playful, clever, and always up for a swim!
