The McCall Center for Civic Engagement encourages all Boxers to take part in improving our community. No matter your interests, skills, passions, or access to resources like time or transportation, we can help you find a way to get involved.

We host events on the Forest Grove campus, share opportunities in the broader community, and partner with a wide variety of different campus units and student groups to help you put on amazing civic engagement events of your own!

Forest Grove, Hillsboro

Sarah Cavanagh, author of Mind Over Monsters: Supporting Youth Mental Health with Compassionate Challenge, will visit campus on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A wide variety of events will be planned on, inviting students, faculty, and staff to engage with Prof. Cavanagh and the concept of “compassionate challenge” in the college classroom. Please save the the date and learn how you can prepare for her visit.

Your votes have been counted and the 25/26 Undergraduate Student Senate is in session! Swing by our table in the UC on Wednesday, September 17 to meet your representatives and learn what we do to support you and all Boxers on campus. In collaboration with the McCall Center for Civic Engagement & Constitution Day, this drop-in event will feature sweat treats, interactive games, prizes, and opportunities to share your priorities and feedback with the Undergraduate Student Senate!

Dr. Sarah Rose Cavanagh, author of Mind Over Monsters: Supporting Youth Mental Health with Compassionate Challenge, on the Forest Grove campus this Wednesday, September 17. There will be multiple in-person and zoom opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to engage with Dr. Cavanagh and her work on "compassionate challenge" in the college classroom. All faculty and staff are invited join us for one or more of the day's events: morning keynote, afternoon implementation and calibration workshop, and/or classroom visit! Learn more and RSVP.
