Wapato Lake Planting with ISA
Description

Every year, members of the Indigenous Student Alliance partners with the Wapato Lake NWR to plant Wapato and other native grasses to restore the wetlands. This year we are collaborating with Friends of Trees to plant Wapato Lake.

Contact ISA Advisor, Nikol Roubidoux, if you want to volunteer. Carpooling available.

Your help is needed to help plant at Wapato Lake National Wildlife Refuge, one of the nation's newest refuges! This site consists of 817 acres within a 5,000 acre network of near-contiguous publicly-owned natural areas connecting wetlands, floodplains, and waterways, is of critical importance to the health of water, wildlife and people across the Portland metro area. Please join for a fun morning planting in the wetlands!

The planting starts at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun!
