​For major dental services such as crowns, implants, or other extensive procedures, we strongly recommend requesting a pretreatment estimate. While this step is optional, it can help you understand your coverage and any potential out‑of‑pocket costs before treatment is performed.
How it works: Simply request a pretreatment estimate from your dental provider. In some cases, the dental office may be able to provide an estimate upfront, or they can submit the proposed treatment to The Standard for review. Once reviewed, an explanation of benefits will be sent to you, with a copy provided to the dental office. This explanation outlines the cost of the services, what The Standard will pay, and what you would be responsible for—helping ensure there are no surprises when treatment is received.
