Shape Pacific’s Future: Join a University Standing Committee!

Your voice matters. University Standing Committees play a vital role in guiding Pacific’s policies, culture, and community decisions.

Serving as a staff representative is a rewarding way to build your network across campuses, develop leadership skills, and ensure staff perspectives are heard where decisions are made.

We currently have 11 open staff positions across six committees. Whether you want to self-nominate or recommend a talented colleague, we want to hear from you!

 

The Commitment 
  • Time: ~2 to 3 hours per month

  • Schedule: Monthly meetings from September through May

  • Eligibility: Open to non-faculty staff (specific criteria noted below)
     

Open Positions
  • University Health & Safety Advisory Committee

    • Focus: Advise on campus safety, emergency planning, policy compliance, and safety equipment/building feedback.

    • Openings: 1 position for Hillsboro campus staff (3-year term)

  • University Diversity Committee

    • Focus: Partner with University Council to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives across student enrollment, faculty, and staff.

    • Openings: 2 positions (one 2-year term; one 3-year term)

  • University Finance Committee

    • Focus: Review financial operations, employee benefits, budgets, and financial aid to foster transparent communication campus-wide.

    • Openings: 2 positions (one 2-year term; one 3-year term)

  • University Honors & Awards Committee

    • Focus: Nominate and recommend individuals for presidential and annual employee recognition awards.

    • Openings: 3 positions (one 1-year term; one 2-year term; one 3-year term)

    • Eligibility: Benefits-eligible staff with 3+ years of employment at Pacific.

  • University Technology Committee

    • Focus: Evaluate technology policies and advise on new educational technology implementations and communications.

    • Openings: 1 position (1-year term completion)

  • University Cultural Collections Committee

    • Focus: Oversee stewardship of Pacific’s cultural assets, including Art Collections, Archives, Special Collections, and Museums.

    • Openings: 2 positions (one 3-year term; one 1-year term)

    • Eligibility: Openings must be filled by staff from different campus locations.
