The Division of Undergraduate Studies is hosting Sarah Rose Cavanagh, author of Mind Over Monsters: Supporting Youth Mental Health with Compassionate Challenge, on the Forest Grove campus this upcoming Wednesday, September 17. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to join us as we engage with Dr. Cavanagh and her work on "compassionate challenge" in the college classroom.
Dr. Cavanagh will present research and food for thought on how higher education can respond to staff & faculty burn out and the student mental health crisis.
Following her keynote, she will lead an implementation and calibration workshop where we will come together to explore the practical realities of "compassionate challenge" in our unique campus classrooms and units.
To wrap up the day she will visit an SLT classroom to meet with future educators!
