Brian King has been named the new Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer for °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ, with an official start date of September 1st.
Brian is an experienced IT leader with a strong background in managing university IT operations, governance, and security. In his progressive roles at °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ, including Interim CIO since November 2024, he has led major projects, improved cost efficiency, and implemented governance structures.
His skills include project management, business analysis, vendor management, and policy development and he has received awards for his contributions to the university. He has a B.A. in Psychology and extensive training in leadership, AI, data governance, and compliance.
Notably, his achievements include creating privacy policies, streamlining security reviews, leading technology transitions during COVID, and testifying as a technology expert. He has also had entrepreneurial experience running a small business.
His collaborative leadership style will be critical as we continue to advance our mission rooted in access to education, innovation in learning, and service to the community.
