What Exactly is Nonstop Health?
The Nonstop Health program combines an ACA-compliant health plan with an Internal Revenue Code Section 105 Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan (MERP), which gives your employees tax-free funds to pay for in-network* and covered** eligible expenses. which shows the "basics" of the program.
What are covered eligible expenses?
These might include:
- Visits to in-network* providers, facilities and pharmacies
- Medical services approved by the employee's health insurance carrier
- Medications/prescriptions covered under your employee's health insurance plan

Tips for using the Nonstop Visa card
Employees may use their Nonstop Visa card to pay for in-network* and covered** eligible expenses. Because health insurance plans cover services and prescriptions differently, there isn't one exhaustive list of where they can/cannot use their card. However, below are a few examples of things that are never covered by Nonstop Health:
- Over-the-counter medications, vitamins, or supplements
- Dental or vision services, unless covered under their health insurance plan
- Other services and medications not approved by their health insurance plan, such as Durable Medical Equipment, Alternative Care, mental health services
Remember, these are only examples and not an exhaustive list! If an employee isn't sure if something is covered, they should check with their carrier.

Substantiations
Nonstop regularly reviews purchases made with the Nonstop Visa card to confirm acceptable use. This process is called substantiation. If our system flags a charge, it will automatically email the member asking for them to provide documentation to validate the charge.
If a charge cannot be substantiated and/or has not been approved by the employee's health insurance carrier, the employee must reimburse their employer’s Nonstop account.
Just a reminder that an employee's health insurance carrier is the company that provides their health insurance plan and coverage (Regence and Kaiser)
Nonstop is not affiliated with any carrier. They are a completely separate entity. They cannot access any data, medical information, billing/claims details or EOBs on an employee's behalf. Nor can they confirm if a service/prescription is covered or if a provider is in-network for an employee's health insurance plan.
