Civic Engagement Speaker Opportunity
The McCall Center for Civic Engagement at Ƶ is looking for speakers and workshop facilitators to participate in our March 7 Spirit of Civic Engagement Summit. The 2026 theme for this annual conference is Cultivating Hope: Nurturing the Possibility of a Better “We” and the audience will be a select group of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
Workshop sessions can be between 30-90 minutes long, and will take place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026. We are happy to offer an honorarium of $250, and if a facilitator is traveling from more than 75 miles away, we may be able to provide overnight accommodations (however, please note that we are looking specifically for folks who work and live - or have deep roots - in the Portland Metro region). Speakers will be invited to participate in the full half-day program, which will include multiple workshop sessions, breakfast, and lunch.
We are open to any session topic that speaks to your passions, experiences, and hopes for the upcoming year, and invite you to share your ideas with us. We would be happy to work with you to craft session titles and explore format options (e.g., interactive workshop vs. storytelling vs. roundtable) if you have an idea but are not exactly sure how to present it.
Please email the McCall Center for Civic Engagement with your interest and/or questions. We hope to finalize a speaker lineup by January 31, so we would appreciate hearing from you no later than January 15.
