CETCI Pedagogy After-Hours: Digital Pedagogy in the Student-Centered Classroom with Aimee Wodda

Body

We are excited to invite you to the next session of the CETCI After-Hours Pedagogy Series. On , Criminal Justice, Law, & Society professor Aimee Wodda will be speaking about how she combines technology and community to create authentic, engaging learning experiences for her students. The session will be held in the Tran Library on the Forest Grove campus, and you can .

Dr. Wodda's classes are centered around community-based teaching and learning. No matter which class she's teaching, she designs assignments that are meant to be read/viewed by others–students are not writing or producing work just for her. They have a real audience in mind when communicating what they’ve learned. In this session, Aimee will provide an example of a class activity template using a series of hyperlinked GoogleDocs and Google Slides. This activity prompts students to conduct supported mini-research on pre-selected topics and distill their learning into a collaborative slideshow. This activity can be reused across multiple semesters and is endlessly adaptable and updatable.

This event is the third in the CETCI After-Hours Pedagogy Series. Other events in the series will feature faculty and topics presented at the Pedagogy Speed Date in September and you can find the full line-up .
