Stevie is a visual artist who confronts modern environmental crises through the ancient medium of encaustic painting. Using the elemental forces of fire, molten beeswax, and pine sap, she creates a luminous and tactile record of a world in flux. Her project, Natural Consequences, explores the dichotomy of beauty and destruction, and the profound, often tragic, consequences of human action on the natural world. Through her paintings, she gives a voice to endangered wildlife and their vanishing habitats. Each work acts as a visual memorial, honoring both what has been lost and what we stand to lose.

Natural Consequences invites viewers on a journey to confront our urgent reality, serving as a powerful reminder that even the most timeless materials can be a vehicle for our most contemporary truths. Her paintings are a call to action—a reminder that the key to a positive future is not a distant, abstract solution, but one found close to home, in the shared effort that brings about restoration in our own communities.
