Areas I Teach
Dr. Lena Cavusoglu is an Assistant Professor of Marketing. She is teaching a wide range of graduate and undergraduate marketing courses including Marketing Research Design and Analysis, Marketing Management, Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, and International Marketing. Her excellence in teaching was recognized with the Outstanding Educator Award from 芭乐视频 in 2025.
Her research focuses on transformative consumer research and consumer culture theory. More specifically she studies diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in marketplaces, specifically in creative industries such as advertising, film, social and digital media, entertainment, fashion, and beauty. She has published in esteemed international peer-reviewed journals, including the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Behavior, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Qualitative Market Research, Journal of Global Marketing and the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research.
Her research has earned recognition, receiving several prestigious honors such as the 2023 Best Film Award from the Association for Consumer Research (ACR), the Runner-up Award for Best Consumer Culture Theory Competitive Paper at ACR Asia-Pacific 2024, and the Highly Commended Paper Award at the 2025 International Social Marketing Conference, which are testament to the significance and impact of her work.
Continuing her academic endeavors, Dr. Cavusoglu has shared her expertise as a visiting professor at diverse international institutions. Her commitment to teaching and research has taken her to various locations, including institutions in the United States, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.

- Critical Marketing: psycho-social influence of digital marketing practices such as AI and social media on consumers
