Year started in program: 2021
Background: I completed my BA in psychology at the University of North Texas. Following graduation, I moved to New Mexico to work as a research coordinator for Dr. Kent Kiehl at the Mind Research Network, conducting research with incarcerated men and women.
Research Interests: Broadly, I am interested in psychopathy, violence, and aggression. Specifically, I have two main interests: 1) I am interested in the correlates and etiology (e.g., trauma, TBI) of risk and recidivism, and 2) investigating and implementing interventions that promote successful reintegration for incarcerated individuals, and the interplay between these two interests.
What’s next? I have accepted a health professions scholarship through the army. This allows the rest of my school to be fully funded, and I will receive a stipend. I will then complete a five year commitment as a military psychologist, starting at internship.
More about me: When I’m not working, you can find me running around the Cascades (hoping to summit Mt. Rainier before I graduate!) or trying to get through my forever-growing TBR (to be read) stack of books.
