Growing up, Pamela Lee '19, MAT '20 looked up to all of her teachers.

Trevor Hennigan MAT '22 knew that it was time to step up and make a change when the pandemic hit.

Corey Hedger '18, MAT '19 wanted a small community and a small school where he would get the most out of his education while also being challenged every day.

Fregoso is pursuing a Bachelor of Education in Teaching and English Language Learning, or BEd, at ������Ƶ. The flexible program is designed with flexibility to support community college transfer students, as well as K-12 classified staff interested in becoming teachers. Students study at Pacific’s Woodburn, eugene or Forest Grove campuses, or in hybrid programs from their own communities, and they are immersed in local schools.

“The small campus, the close knit staff, and student cohort were exactly what I needed,” said Stacy Carpenter MAT '16.

Lisa Story MAT '20 has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember.

Nancy Deniz ‘20 was the first in her family to go to college, but ������Ƶ felt like home for the education and learning major.

Nate Anderson '17, MAT '20 earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science at ������Ƶ, then went on to earn his master of arts in teaching. "I loved the small school feel and how closely you get to work with the professors here," he said.

Noah Elliott ’08, MAT ’09 was honored and surprised to be named the Oregon Small Schools Association 2020 Teacher of the Year.

Cameron Broome MAT '20 had a calling to be a teacher; to help, educate, support and encourage others as he had done throughout his whole life. 

A kindergarten teacher's extra effort set Lillian Wolfe '20, MEd '22 on the path to teaching.

Andy Haugen ’11, MAT ’13 loves seeing his students’ “ah-ha” moments. “You always get a different group of students every year, and you never know what their background or thought processes are,” he said. “It’s always fresh, it’s always unique.” Haugen is a history teacher at Valley Catholic High School, a private school in Beaverton, Ore., where he also is the school librarian.
