
Areas I Teach
Lesley Harbison's dental hygiene journey began in 2000 after she graduated from the University of Vermont. After many years of practicing in both specialty and general dentistry, Lesley earned a Master of Science in dental hygiene from Idaho State University in 2019.
In 2014, Lesley started a mobile dental hygiene practice focused on providing care to the geriatric population and other patients who faced significant barriers to accessing dental care. Her professional interests include increasing access to care, ethics and empathy in dental hygiene, and advancing the dental hygiene profession.
Since 2018, Lesley has been a full-time faculty member at °ÅÀÖÊÓÆµ where she enjoys sharing her knowledge and learning alongside her students. She has published extensively, with contributions to two dental hygiene textbooks and numerous peer-reviewed articles.
A proud member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, Lesley has held various leadership roles, including 2018/19 President. She is a member of the American Dental Education Association and contributed to the 2026 ADEA Compendium of Curriculum Guidelines.
